Prior to joining SLG, Nadim worked as in-house counsel for Microsoft Corporation from 2004 to 2007 as the lead commercial attorney for MEA. He was responsible for covering the region in connection with all legal issues of concern for the company. The position entailed counselling on legal issues, drafting agreements and attending negotiation sessions in connection with licensing and services deals and other commercial transactions in both the public and commercial sectors, working to combat the piracy epidemic in the region through both working with investigators and outside counsel to enforce Microsoft’s IP rights and also participating in workshops with government agencies to empower enforcement officials in performing their duties, and resolving other internal legal issues relating to the day to day running of a region that had revenues in excess of US$ 1billion dollars. The work entailed heavy transactional work, constant business counselling and regular corporate and regulatory compliance work including both working with regulatory authorities (competition authorities, advertising authorities, electronic commerce etc..) and internal investigative teams as well as the management of a network of over 20 law firms that supported us in our work in the region. Prior to joining Microsoft, Nadim was a Senior Attorney with a Jordanian based firm acting as the lead attorney for the commercial team.
