Mohammed Al-Muhtaseb


Al-Muhtaseb is the Managing Partner and founder of Miza Capital; a private equity company that invests in SMEs at their growth stage. Portfolio companies include the Voi Artis Group of companies ( where Al-Muhtaseb serves as the Group’s Executive Chairman and Shale Energy Company (PLC) (, a publicly-traded Jordanian oil shale company, where he served as Managing Director and is currently a Board member.

Mohammed also serves as a Board member at Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans ( He has also served previously on several NGO and private sector boards. Mohammed started his career in business consulting working with more than 30 clients, most of which are SMEs. He served as SME Upgrade Advisor with the European Commission’s Industrial Modernisation Programme (EJADA) for four years. In 2005, he joined the Office of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah as Director of Projects, tasked with building Her Majesty’s non-profit organizations.

Mohammed’s forte is in managing growth, turnaround, organizational and financial restructuring as well as corporate and communication strategy and entrepreneurship.

Mohammed holds a Bachelor and Masters of Engineering with Honours (University of Kent, 1996, 1997) in Electronic Engineering and Medical Electronics Engineering and a MBA (Kent Business School, 1999).
